#29 Lucha Libre Gourmet Taco Shop

Last night we went to Lucha Libre for dinner. This gourmet taco shop was featured on Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel. It has been voted the best burrito in town, and is extremely unique to say the least. As the name suggests, the taco shop got its inspiration for "vibrant, high spirits" from the Mexican wrestling tradition. The TVs play classic wrestling matches, and the decor consists of pictures of wrestlers and Lucha masks. A disco ball hangs from the ceiling, and the colors of the entire place are very bright.

This huge picture takes up one whole wall in the back and is signed by one of the wrestlers.

Just some of the Lucha masks on display. If you wear a Lucha mask when you come to eat, you get a Luchador discount. We did see one little boy sporting a mask, while we were there.

This is the "Champions Booth," which requires a 24 hour advance reservation.

More of the decor... masked wrestlers everywhere!

The Surfin' California Burrito. This is the same burrito that Adam Richman ate on Man vs. Food. Grilled Steak, Shrimp, Fresh French Fries, Avocado, Pico De Gallo, Cheese, & Super Secret Chipotle Sauce.
It was delicious! I left most of the tortilla and some steak, but almost finished it. Of course, I hadn't eaten anything all day except a small salad and some crackers. We also sampled a few of the salsas that they make fresh all day. They were great too!

Dominic, Eliza, Richard, Lupe, Myself and Audrey out front after we ate. To the right you can see the line that is pretty far out the door to order. The counter is in the back, but it went pretty fast for us. They did run out of rice for Dom and Richard's burritos so they were waiting a while for them to make more. We will definitely be going back here, but not without a huge appetite!
