When she asks for her favorite dress, Eliza says "the red one with spots." She asks for it at least once a week these days, though it is sometimes "dirty" so she will pick something else. We got it for 75 cents in the spring of 2009 - a hand me down from a friend's little girl. It is made by George, which is a Walmart brand. The dress doesn't have sleeves that could be too long, or spaghetti straps that could fall down, and it ties around the waist. Therefore, it fit last summer, this summer, and just barely into this fall. It has been well worn and loved, but alas, the weather is turning chilly and Eliza is growing taller. The time has come to pack up some of Eliza's summer clothes, including her favorite dress - but before I do, I thought I'd share some memories of Eliza and her red dress with spots.

February 11, 2010 - Just playing around at home. She didn't wear the dress out anywhere since it was cold.

July 8, 2010 - Dancing in our new place
July 16, 2010 - Braum's for ice cream
August 3, 2010 - McDonald's before Bible study
September 11, 2010 - Magic Show
September 25, 2010 - Lillian Pool's birthday party.
Still not sure what to tell Eliza next time she asks for this dress, I sadly put it into the tote with the other clothes she has outgrown.
Yep - we have lots of memories of Eliza in that dress. Will Audrey ever wear it, or would Eliza freak out? ;)

ReplyDeleteI don't know if Audrey will wear it, I was thinking of asking my mom to make it into a dress for Eliza's doll, but don't know if I want to ruin it for future use...
