Fall is finally here! The weather was awesome this week - it was cool enough to actually spend time outside. The girls and I took full advantage today and went to the park. We met up with Nicole, Megan and Katie to have some fun on the playground, eat a picnic lunch and go for a walk. Katherine Rose Park was the perfect setting. The playground was just right for all the kids and we found a great shaded spot to spread out the blankets at lunch time.
Audrey and Katie liked going up and down the steps and the ramp.
Eliza and Megan were so happy to see each other and play together.
After lunch, we went on a walk on some of the paths around the park. When we got back, we let the kids play a little while longer before we went home. Audrey started out by walking on the curb around the playground like a balance beam. She was so proud of herself when she stepped off.
Thankfully, Eliza and Megan didn't have this part of the playground figured out (it was labeled for 5-12 year olds). They both tried to climb on it, but didn't know what to do once they got up there.
Eliza is getting so confident now at climbing and trying new things at the playground.
Audrey up at the top...and Megan is behind her looking through the telescope. Eliza and Megan kept pretending to look at the moon through it.
I think she really thought about trying these chain ladders out. Then she looked up and realized they didn't go anywhere and figured it wouldn't be worth it.
Eliza had a lot of fun taking Katie on the slide, and Katie loved it too! Megan then decided she wanted to take Audrey down with her, but Audrey wasn't around up there so I went to get her...
She was having fun playing all the musical instruments - drums, maracas, some kind of chimes (the purple one) it was a pretty cool area.
So I finally got Audrey up there to go on the slide with Megan, and Megan heard that Eliza was on the tire swing so she hurried up and went down by herself. Nicole's up at the top with Audrey like "did that really just happen?" It was pretty funny.
Audrey just went down by herself instead.
At which point, Eliza had left the tire swing to come back on the slide.
Not long after that, we told them it was time to leave. You can see the excited reaction to that news...
We woke up in the morning with no plans. I'm so glad it turned out to be such a nice day with some great friends!
