Weighing in...

We had Audrey's 2 year check up today. She weighed in at 23 lbs - just enough to make the 5th percentile for her age. The doctor said she would only be concerned if she was under the 5th percent. Whew! She was 34 inches tall - just above the 25th percentile. All in all, it went really well. She was happy to talk to the doctor and let her check her out. She has been practicing at home by letting Eliza check her out with her doctor kit. We love our new pediatrician, Dr. Smith too! She has made the transition very easy, and it helps that she tells me how great my kids are - as if I didn't already know **wink, wink.**

On another positive note, our appointment was for 9:30 and we were back in the car at 10:05! That has never happened. Audrey got 2 shots and did so great, so we went to CVS on the way home and got her a My Little Pony bubble blower.

  1. I have had the same worries about Grace's size, you should check out the new growth charts by the World Health Organization- they only go up to 2 I think but they are much more accurate then the other ones and reflect where children SHOULD be not where they are here in a country with serious childhood obesity probs. In other words little girls like ours are healthier than most! :)

  2. Thanks Miranda! I think the main issue with her weight before was that she plateau'd and wasn't gaining at all. She gained only about 3 lbs in a year between 6 and 18mos. No gain btwn 15 and 18 - but she started walking in there, so I'm not convinced it was exactly the same.
