Simple Fun

The girls and I spent a couple hours today playing with play-doh.  I can't even remember the last time we did this.  I know that Audrey had never played with it before, and she stayed there playing long after Eliza lost interest and I went to make dinner.  I am glad that there was no taste-testing on her part, since we were at the dinner table and well into dinner time.

Eliza started by flattening hers out, while Audrey just pulled pieces off and explored the texture in her fingers.

Then we moved on to some of the tools.  Both girls loved the scissors that came with our play-doh set.

The little "rolling pin" was a big hit too.  Eventually, I had to find another one so that they each had one.

Eliza had fun with all of the different letters.

Audrey liked the animal shapes.

The most fun she had though, was just breaking the play-doh into small pieces and then stacking them up to make a tower - just like with blocks.  She did this over and over, taking off one piece at a time and inspecting each of them carefully before beginning a new tower.  She was so proud of herself each time she finished that she cheered and clapped her hands.

  1. How cute! I guess I should bust out the play doh we got for Christmas. :) And, I think we are putting another playdoh playdate up... I guess the kids are ready for it now. Wish you guys were here!
