Birthdays

The day after Christmas we celebrated Audrey's and Sage's birthdays. Sage really wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese this year, so we went for lunch. Everyone had a blast! We had pizza, played games, rode some of the "rides," and took home some prizes. A couple of hours was all it took and surprisingly, none of the kids were upset when it was time to leave.

Daddy helped Audrey climb up onto this ride, though her attention span was so short we didn't have to put a token in. She would turn the wheel for a bit and then want down. She was excited to check it all out, so we took turns tagging after her.

Sage had a great time with all the games.

Our last token was used for Audrey to play this bucket game - though she didn't make any balls into the buckets.

Eliza had trouble pedaling, so Lloyd did it with her.

We all went back to Nana and Papa's house afterwards and continued with the celebrations. I found this cute idea for a fun, easy and edible activity online. The kids all made castles with graham crackers, icing, gum drops, bugles, twizzlers and sprinkles.

Eliza was loving it! Audrey did more eating than anything else, but she tried.

I switched the gum drops and bugles since Audrey was eating so many of the gum drops. She was just as excited when she could reach the bugles instead!

Eliza doesn't like to have stuff on her fingers, but wasn't too upset when she discovered how yummy it was to lick off. Needless to say, we threw out any remaining icing when we were finished.

Next it was time to open presents! We left the castle creations on the table for later and headed into the living room after washing hands.

Audrey wasn't as overwhelmed as she had been Christmas morning, and was excited to open more gifts of course. She was so happy with everything - even the clothes!

We sang Happy Birthday to Audrey and Sage, and they both blew out their candles (with some help). Sage had an ice cream cake with Tinkerbell, and Audrey's cake was almond cake with whipped chocolate icing. Mmmmm! Both were so delicious!

We had just enough time to pack a few of Audrey's new toys into Dominic's luggage. Then I took him to the airport for his flight home. It was a great way to celebrate with family while keeping it simple right after Christmas.
