#25 Make Christmas Cookies

Well, making Christmas cookies was quite an ordeal. We went over to Matilda's house to make them on December 21st. She made the dough and put it in the fridge to chill. Eliza and Sage helped to roll the peanut butter dough into balls and open the Hershey's kisses. Then there was an "incident" with Kyrie and the cookie making was put on hold - Kyrie had her first visit to the emergency room due to "nursemaid's elbow."

So Matilda came over to mom and dad's house the following week (the 27th) to finish where we left off. We started with the cut-outs and did some gingerbread cookies as well. Eliza was so excited to help!

Of course frosting the cookies was Eliza's favorite part. She couldn't help but lick her fingers when she "accidentally" got icing on them.

Audrey "helped" too. She found a way to open one of the big containers of sprinkles and spilled it all over. We gave her one little cookie with some icing on it to put the sprinkles on...

but the sprinkles kept sticking to her fingers more than the cookie! She didn't seem to mind cleaning them off.

My cousin DeAnn helped Eliza even out the icing on this one since there was a little chocolate and a little strawberry on it. Eliza did the sprinkles herself, and when she finished she was so proud of it. She told me she made it just for me!

Some of the finished cookies.

Aunt Amanda came and kidnapped Eliza to spend the night at her house as we were finishing up. Fine by me after all the sugar... Ha! Audrey's fingers and lips were pretty stained, even the next morning. Overall, we finished some cookies and the girls had fun doing it!
