KidsWalk at the ArtWalk

The girls have been begging me to make crafts with them nonstop!  We have been so busy that I haven't had that much time or energy to do them at home, so today was the perfect solution.  We went downtown to Little Italy and the ArtWalk.  The KidsWalk area had tons of booths set up for the kids to make lots of crafts.  They started by decorating banks, then we went over to the San Diego Seaside Scrollers tent.

The girls each picked out a shape and we traced it onto a block of wood.  Then we waited our turn to have the scrollers cut them out for us with the saw.

Eliza picked Tinker bell and Audrey picked out a horse.  Then they got to paint them.

Audrey rushed from tent to tent while Eliza took her time at some of them, so we separated for some things. Audrey made a sea urchin with recycled plastic.  She loved cutting with the scissors!

Eliza made this cool wreath with recycled paper/magazine pages.

Audrey got her face painted and we watched some of the acrobatic show.

Eliza got to do this awesome bear with pastels - it was for ages 5 and up only, and there was a wait list to do it.  So worth the wait!  She had some instruction, but did the drawing by herself!

At the end of the day, we got to join a drum circle!  RhythmWorks has over 600 musical instruments that they offer classes and special events for.  There were lots to choose from, and we all got to try out some different ones.

I was surprised Audrey didn't pick any drums, but she had fun with the instruments.

Eliza picked this cool drum first thing.  She was so happy playing it!

More instruments!

The girls had so much fun today!  We spent a few hours there and they brought home so many crafts and goodies!
