Late this afternoon we headed to Suzie's Farm with friends to check out the spooky sunflower maze, and pick out our pumpkins. It was our first time venturing down to Imperial Beach, which is pretty close to the Mexican border. Suzie's is a working, all organic farm, and it felt like we were so far away from the city. It was a beautiful evening with the sun beginning to set over the fields, and casting its warm glow over everything.
When we first arrived, Eliza wasted no time picking up a little pumpkin. She carried it around the rest of the time we were there.
Audrey found a pumpkin in the middle of the sunflower maze, and carried it around until she found a better one.
They had so much fun exploring, and this bunting tent in the middle of the maze was a big hit.

Dom in the maze.
One of the little clearings in the maze had this big tire that the girls got to climb on.
After the sunflower maze, we headed over to pick pumpkins.
Eliza with her new favorite one.
The girls both had fun checking out all of the different kinds and colors of pumpkins.
The really bright orange ones were pretty.
Eliza liked finding the ones with the big stems and vine still connected.
There were green ones...
and white ones too!

Eliza didn't want to pose for many pictures, so I had to catch her on the move.

Audrey found a nice small one that she liked.

All ready to go home with their pumpkins.
We went over to our friends' house for dinner and play time, before heading home for bed. It was a great night!
Isn't it worth it to head to a working farm to pick your pumpkins? We have so much fun just looking at all the funny looking pumpkins & gourds.
ReplyDeleteI love the one of Eliza holding the pumpkin. She is so beautiful! Miss you guys so much!
ReplyDeleteDebi it was so nice! None of the commercial stuff, and actually picking them off the vine was a first for the girls.
ReplyDeleteThank you Johanna!
