Ballerinas!

We finally got the girls signed up for ballet!  I have been wanting to get Eliza into ballet for a while, but decided to wait for Kindergarten to get started and let her settle in a bit.  Audrey is not as overdue, but its nice to have something for her too.  I actually wanted to get Audrey into soccer so she could get out some of her aggression, but couldn't find a good program in the area for under 3 year olds.  So, we went with ballet.  When we went looking for ballet slippers this past weekend, I knew she would be happy with it when she immediately got up and started twirling around the dance store.  The store reminded me of my childhood and going to get ballet slippers with my mom and sisters.  It was such a great "personal" experience instead of just grabbing a pair at Payless.

This afternoon when we got ready to go, Audrey was adorable.  I put her hair in a bun (which didn't last long), and snapped a few pictures before we went to get Eliza at school.

Eliza had to get changed at the rec center.  They were both dancing around out in the hall while we were waiting for class to start.

Audrey's class was first for 30 minutes.  There were only 4 other little girls, so it was great that the teacher could help each one a little here and there.

She did great at paying attention the whole time, and trying to copy what her teacher was doing.

They did some stuff sitting down.  Pointing their toes up to the ceiling and down to the floor.

The butterfly, and nose to her toes.

Then they did some stuff in a line, going around the room doing various things.

Up on her toes!

She kept sticking her tongue out while she was concentrating on everything, so the teacher was telling her to show her teeth.

Hands on the hips.

She was really trying!  It was cute - and pretty funny.

Eliza's class was right after Audrey's with the same teacher.  It lasts for 45 minutes, and they kick the parents out so they aren't distracted.  Audrey and I had fun playing on the playground outside.  We get to sit in on the last class of the month, so I'll just have to get pictures then.

Both girls had so much fun and can't wait to go back next Monday!
