A Trip to the Zoo

We got up this morning with plans to go for a ride on the Forest Park Miniature Railroad in Fort Worth. Unfortunately, when we parked and got ready to walk over to the train, we found out that it was closed. So with a quick change of plans, we headed over to the zoo to explore with our friends.

I almost don't even need a stroller anymore since the girls always want to walk and get up close to the railings where they can see. Audrey is still a little slower though, so she was always lagging behind.

The elephants and giraffes were really close this time, so Audrey especially liked seeing them.

 

We had lunch in the Crocodile Cafe and spent some time checking out the crocs.

We ended the day with a ride on the zoo train. We had never been on the train there, even though we go to the zoo all the time, so Eliza was ecstatic!

Though it wasn't the 40 minute train ride we had planned to do, I doubt that any of the kids knew the difference. We didn't see the whole zoo, or even as much as we usually do (because it was HOT!), but we had lots of fun with our friends! We said goodbye to the flamingos on the way out, and headed home.
