Another Egg-cellent Craft Activity!

The girls and I dyed Easter eggs this afternoon.  We only did 4 because nobody likes to eat them except for Dominic, but it was still fun.  We didn't use the traditional egg dyeing kit, instead we found a way to use the remaining scraps of tissue paper from one of our projects earlier this week and just plain water.  Simple, and lots of fun for the girls.

They loved dipping the scraps of tissue paper into the water!

Then they placed the wet paper onto the boiled eggs.  Audrey needed more help than Eliza because the paper  was folding up a lot, but she kept trying and did a great job.

2 eggs each was plenty since this method took a bit longer.

Though the table got a bit wet, it was just water so the mess was easy to clean up too!

When we were finished, we let them dry completely before taking off the paper.

The finished eggs.  The colors weren't as vibrant as the original papers, but they still look beautiful.

  1. They looked so pretty with the paper on... did they stick at all? I wonder if you could use honey or something sticky/edible to keep it on until you wanted to crack them. You have turned into quite the crafter!

  2. I liked them with the paper too! The blue, green and purple showed up best on the eggs once we took the paper off. As far as me crafting - its not as often as it seems this week, but I miss all the fun crafts with AMMG.

  3. I like the soft water color effect! I like the project because it would take a lot of time. Rather than the usual dip dye & done .....more time setting up than actual project.
