Last year for Christmas, I bought three of the Hallmark recordable books of The Night Before Christmas. I sat with my grandparents and helped them to record all three. Then I gave one to each of my sisters and kept the third one for myself. As we celebrated my Papa's 90th birthday earlier in the week, we cherished the books even more this year than last. So before the kids went to bed, we gathered around to listen to Papa tell the story...
Amanda sat on the couch with all the kids around her and turned the pages.
Audrey was on Amanda's lap and kept jumping up and down. It definitely doesn't feel good when she does it... this picture captured both of their feelings about it perfectly!
We hung all the stockings, put milk and cookies out for Santa (and apples for the reindeer), and tucked the kids in for the night. Of course we tucked them in multiple times before it stuck, but eventually all was quiet.
