Grandma and Papa's Tree

When we got to Ohio on December 16th, my grandparents didn't have their Christmas tree up yet. Papa had decided not to worry about it this year, so I offered to go over and help put it up. The girls and I went on Saturday the 18th and went out to eat with them first. When we got back to their house, Grandma sat in the living room with the girls while they played. Papa and I carried the ornaments up from the basement and I started the decorating. They have a small artificial tree that sits on top of a table in the front room. I guess I have always taken it for granted in the past, but this year was different. My emotions spilled out later that evening when I told my mom about how it went. I felt honored to be able to do this for my Grandma and Papa for Christmas.

Eliza hung this Zeppelin on one of the lower branches. Most of the other ornaments were too fragile for her to help with, but she was able to hang a few.

The finished tree.

Thankfully, Audrey stayed out of the way while we were decorating. Both of the girls were happy to pose for a picture afterwards though.

Then of course they wanted to check out the amazing ornaments.

Eliza was impressed by all the different ones.

I really liked this little church ornament.

All the Santas reminded me of growing up and seeing tons and tons of Santa's all around Grandma and Papa's house at Christmas time.

Papa held Audrey up to get a better look.

Then I snapped a few shots of the girls with Grandma and Papa.

The girls really enjoyed singing Jingle Bells when we were all finished and had everything cleaned up. They danced around and sang too!
