Beginning the Birthday Celebrations

Since we were so close to Eliza's birthday while we were in Ohio, we had a special dessert, sang happy birthday, and she opened gifts. After dinner on our last Sunday night was perfect because all her cousins, Aunts and Uncles were there along with Great Nana, Great Papa, and of course Nana and Papa. I even called Dominic so he could sing with us when the time came.

Eliza wanted to sit on Great Papa's lap to blow out her candles and eat her dessert.

We all gathered around to sing...

Then she had some help blowing out the candles because her two Aunts decided it would be funny to get trick candles. Eliza loved them - they were "magic!"

Such a good girl reading the card first...

then on to the gifts. She was so excited when she looked inside. There was a puzzle and...

Cootie! She had no idea what this was, but had this look that said "ha ha look what I got!"

Nana showed them how to play, and all the cousins (3 and above anyway), played the game.

Eliza won her very first game, and second and third... She is apparently really good at rolling the dice!

It was a nice, simple celebration for her birthday. She has been wanting to play "the Cootie game" everyday since then. Daddy is the only one to have beaten her so far.
