Dressing up Nana Style

My mom has always been very creative, she has been in the craft business longer than I can remember. Whatever she does is always amazing when its finished, from scrapbooking and cardmaking, to knitting and sewing. So when my nieces and nephew spent the night at Nana's with us on Thursday August 5th, and stayed all day to play on Friday, we took playing dress up to the next level. Mom pulled out all our old homecoming and prom dresses for the girls, and some of Papa's older clothes for Lloyd. It was a blast!

Eliza picked Matilda's prom dress first because it looked like Cinderella's dress. Nana tied it up in the back with string and safety pins so it would stay.

Sage picked Amanda's prom dress first. Then Nana did the hair and makeup.

Of course we couldn't dress up without shoes, so the girls got to wear some of Nana's heels.

Lloyd wore an antique hat that belonged to my mom's dad, a suit jacket and tie from Papa, and Nana completed the look with a handlebar mustache.

Isabella will be the perfect pouty model when she grows up... she was upset that she didn't get to pick her dress first.

Lloyd wore Papa's boots too! He took turns with Isabella being the photographer at the "fashion show."

Two beautiful models...

but don't forget about little Audrey! She wore a dress that Amanda wore to a Valentine's dance. It was the shortest one so she wouldn't trip after some serious adjustments.

Audrey and Isabella were both much happier when Isabella got to try that same red dress and Audrey tried Papa's boots.

Nana even got silly with the hat and announcing the girls on the "runway." Everyone had such a fun time and lots of laughs to say the least.

She got to try on the hat as well. What a terrific morning!

Nana went on that day to serve the kids a lunch of butterflies, and a dinner of spiders! Lunch was made of sandwiches cut into triangles for the wings and grapes down the center for the body. Dinner was hot dogs cut into smaller bites for the body and spaghetti noodles poked through for legs before going into the boiling water. All the kids loved it!
