Well, I had the best Mother's Day yet this year! Friday, Eliza showered me with all kinds of artwork and cards when I picked her up from school. Saturday, we celebrated with Dominic's family - cousins, aunts, mom, brother, friends. It was so nice to see everyone. There was lots of yummy food and beer, and we hung out and watched the Lakers win game 7 against the Nuggets.
Then Sunday morning, Dom made veggie omelets for his mom and I that were delicious. We all got ready, and headed out to check out the Griffith Observatory. It is one of the places I've had 'pinned' to go see in LA, and I'm so glad its the one Dom picked for us to do.

The parking lot was full at the top of the hill, so we parked way down the hill, but it was a nice hike. Plus we took some pictures with the observatory way up there in the background, and I just love this one of the girls and I.
We spent Mom's Day with Lupe and Richard this year too, so we got a picture of just us girls outside of the observatory.
The telescope doesn't open until 7pm, so we'll have to go back and do some stargazing sometime. Just looking at the telescope impressed the girls, and downstairs again, they got to push some buttons that moved a model of it - dome and all.
Audrey had so much fun running around playing with Daddy on the roof observation deck. The Hollywood sign is off in the distance. It was so cool to see it from here, after seeing the observatory from the Hollywood sign only a few months ago.
On our way down to the lower level (yes we did the first floor, then the roof, then the other half of the first floor, and then the lower level).
Audrey and the moon.
When we had seen it all, we found a great sushi place nearby. Eliza did really well with her "modified" chopsticks - better than me, though I'm getting it slowly. The sushi was great, and the girls shared teriyaki chicken, rice, and veggies.
On the drive home, we stopped at the Vista Point for the first time. There are always people there just enjoying the view and feeding the seagulls and squirrels. It was windy, but beautiful.
