Today I got to spend the day with Audrey at preschool. It was great, because I got to see what she does all day when she's there. It was her last day before break since we leave for Ohio on Monday, so we brought cupcakes to celebrate her upcoming birthday.
For the last couple weeks, her teachers also asked parents to bring in "Holiday Traditions" to share with the class. So we started the day with Reindeer Food. I brought in the oatmeal and some holiday colored sprinkles. The kids took turns mixing them together in a big bowl, then scooping them into their paper bags that I had attached a "Reindeer Food" tag on ahead of time. They will get to take them home and spread them on their lawn on Christmas Eve for Santa's reindeer.
Audrey brought in our "Night Before Christmas" book for sharing. Since its so special to her, with Great Papa reading it aloud, they listened to the whole book instead of just having her show them her favorite page. It brought a tear to my eyes as usual when I listen to Papa reading, and Grandma chiming in at the end, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
After snack and recess, I got to help the kids right down their thoughts for their journals. It was so cute to hear the responses to the topic. They have been talking a bit about polar bears, so it was about what they would do all day if they were polar bears. Audrey said she would play with Ethan.
At the end of the day was circle time. Audrey loved to sing the songs and kept looking over at me to make sure I was paying attention.
I love her school! Her teachers are so great and she is growing and learning so much!
