Our monthly zoo meetup was so fun today! We started in the Children's Zoo, talking about the different animals and spotting lots of different colors.
We got to see the keeper feeding JoJo the otter. She fed him some meatballs, fish, and yams. He showed off for us, swimming all over, climbing, standing on his hind legs, and more. It was so cool!
Then we headed just outside the zoo for a ride on the Balboa Park Railroad. We went around the tracks twice, and Audrey loved it.
She picked a seat in front of a big stuffed monkey.
Back inside the zoo, we were excited to check out the brand new Reptile Walk. That area of the zoo has been closed for what seems like forever. It used to be a row of little reptile houses, each with a handful of windows to see different snakes, turtles, and frogs. They were very cramped and dark. Now it is a beautiful, bright, and open walkway. Audrey loves looking for the reptiles in each window, sometimes it takes a little longer when they are really camouflaged.
The crocodiles were finally on exhibit in the back of this section too. There were quite a few of them, and some big turtles.

Then we headed along the path to the Galapagos Tortoises. Audrey was not scared at all to reach out and pet this big guy. I pet him first, and then she happily rubbed his neck like I showed her.
When we headed over to the Orangutan exhibit, one of them was just sitting right against the glass checking us all out.
Audrey got a really close look - and vice versa. So amazing!
