We had a great day today exploring the tide pools with some of our best friends. We got there around 10:30 and didn't leave until 1:45.
Audrey was happy to be there and ready to hunt for sea creatures.
We saw lots and lots of crabs. The hermit crabs were everywhere out in the open, but these lined shore crabs are fun to find in the sides of the cliffs, and along the edges of the pools.
Isabelle and Audrey checking out one of the tide pools as we made our way out on the rocks. These girls just love each other and really enjoyed checking out snails and crabs together. Kathryn was there too and just wanted to go in the water.
Audrey was so invincible in her water shoes this time... way less cautious and careful than than she was on our LAST VISIT.
Moira came to play and explore too. They were having so much fun climbing rocks, splashing in the water, and leading the way to find the next creature.
Best buds together.
Audrey showing little Sophia one of the snails or crabs she found. 18 months old going on 4 years - Sophia was just making her way around the tide pools, checking out the creatures, shells, and rocks so happily.
Such a beautiful day to be doing one of our favorite things!
Moira and Audrey playing in the sand and water as we made our way back towards reality.
Serious Audrey planning her next move...
Fun and mischief! We never wanted to leave.
Just before it was time to finally head to the car, I spotted this knobby sea star hiding on the under side of a big rock. It really made my day! I just love seeing sea stars out in their natural environment (as opposed to the touch pools at Sea World) and sharing their beauty with the kids.
