Tonight was the annual dance at Audrey's preschool. This year's theme was "dress up" and the idea was to let your preschooler pick out the clothes for everyone. Many of the families came decked out in costumes like Halloween, but Audrey's idea of "dress up" was to be "fancy." So she picked her birthday dress for herself, a long dress for me that I had worn a couple summers ago to some weddings, a suit and tie for Daddy, and a new dress Eliza got for Thanksgiving.
After we ate dinner (pasta, salad, fruit, carrots and cupcakes), Audrey was so excited to play with her friends, especially Ethan. They ran around and around the room, sometimes "dancing" their way through the dance floor. She rough housed with the boys in her class and popped back up when she fell down. It was something to see. I know she plays with Ethan every day at school, and Nico and some of the other boys, but it was great to see them all together in their element.
Eliza just danced and danced. Sometimes with Daddy, sometimes by herself.
Audrey took a timeout from playing with her friends, long enough to dance with Daddy a few times too.
I think Dom was a little heartbroken to see her so happy with another boy. It was pretty adorable though.
Trying on one of the hats they had near the DJ.
Yes I was there too.
It was a great night! I am so happy that some of Audrey's classmates are going to be attending Hardy Elementary with her next year too.
