My Kyrie!

The big joke with my niece Kyrie on our trip was that everything was "hers."  She is not used to having my girls there, and sharing all her toys, and Nana's toys with them.  So "mine, mine, mine" was how it started - think of the seagulls from Finding Nemo.  She even started putting "my" in front of people - "My Mommy!" "My Nana!" and eventually, to my heart's delight, "My Abbey!"

So when I was posting pictures from my phone and tagging Matilda, I began saying "My Kyrie!"  I just adore her!  Wish I could bring her home with me.

While we were visiting, she turned 2.  I was happy to help with her party, and super excited when we started brainstorming the food.  Matilda works at Carter's, and one of the perks is that she is able to take home all the store decorations when they change them out.  This year, the summer decorations were ocean themed.  So Kyrie's second birthday party was also ocean themed.

2 years old!  "My happy birthday!"
An added bonus, Matilda has hand-me-down's from her 4 nieces on our side, and the Octopus dress had been handed down through all of them, since Isabella.  It is of course, a shirt more than a dress now, but it was perfect for the party - especially since she has orange shoes and hair bows to match!

Blowing out her candle.  She was one happy girl!

The cookie cake was delicious!

Some of the ocean decor.

One of my masterpieces - a la Pinterest. This one was peanut butter and jelly for Kyrie, the rest of the sandwiches were chicken salad.  I made about 5 crabs, and spread them between the other sandwiches.

My favorite was this awesome Octopus!  Hummus dip with a bell pepper octopus - thanks to Patrick who ran out to the store just for those 2 olive slices and toothpicks.

What a fun party!  Happy Birthday precious Kyrie!
