The Holden Arboretum is just over 30 minutes from the house I grew up in, and none of us had heard of it before Eliza's book. It's the largest arboretum in the US, covering 3,100 acres. So, we went to check it out.
We started in the Butterfly Garden right behind the visitor's center. It was super hot and humid, so nobody wanted to cooperate for pictures, but we did manage to get a few. Promising the kids a mini zipline adventure did the trick.
Dom had flown in late last night, for the weekend. The girls were happy to see him, and stuck by his side most of the time.
We hiked out to "Buckeye Bud's Adventure Woods" next. The kids had been looking forward to the mini zipline all morning, and had lots of fun. It was nothing compared to the zipline Lloyd had just got to do for his 11th birthday, but the younger kids all loved it.
Before we left, I tried again to get a nice picture of Audrey - she still wasn't looking but there's a smile.
Then we headed into Chagrin Falls for ice cream on the way home. We explored down near the waterfall for a while too.
