Great Nana

The week before we headed to Ohio, my family had to go through getting Grandma moved into a nursing home.  Her dementia has progressed too far for Papa to keep taking care of her, and both my mom and aunt work full time.

We got to visit with her a handful of times during our trip.  She was always happy to see us, and commented on how beautiful the girls were each time.  She gave them hugs and kisses, and they happily gave her hugs and kisses back.

She was playful with them, and let Audrey count her fingers over and over.  Audrey touched Grandma's hair and told her it was pretty.

Eliza was happy to sing and dance for  Great Nana and some of the other residents that were sitting nearby.

During one of our visits, we got to do therapy with Grandma.  She did some exercises with her feet and legs, then we got to play some games.  The kids took turns with her doing a bean bag toss, we played catch with a big beach ball as we all sat in a circle, and we even kicked the beach ball around the circle.  The girls thought it was super fun!  The therapist kept apologizing for interrupting our visit, but it was more fun for them than just sitting and chatting in the other room.
