The 100th Day!

Today Eliza's class celebrated their 100th day of school!  Mrs. Goforth sent home a brown paper bag last week, with the assignment of bringing in 100 of the same item.  She gave lots of suggestions, like shells, popcorn kernels, paper clips, pennies.  Eliza decided to bring stickers, so we cut out 100 little heart stickers.  They have been working on counting by 10's so we practiced that while we counted and recounted them before placing them in the brown bag.

Since Eliza had missed a few days, it was technically her 97th day, but who's counting?

She has been doing great at school.  Her reading is improving everyday with a little less prodding to sound out the hard words as her confidence builds.  She does her weekly homework assignments with very little help, and is writing some really great stories, letters, and other entries in her writing journal.
