Well I got sicker than I can ever remember being this past week. It started with a sore throat, then turned into what I am convinced was the plague (or probably just the flu). It lasted a whole week. I am thankful Dominic was there over the weekend when it started, but come Monday he had to go back to work. I was lucky enough to still get a "sick day" though, thanks to my friend Rachele. I took Eliza to school in the morning, then Rachele came and picked up Audrey for the entire day. She took her to our playgroup's Valentine's Party, then back to her house to play. I just slept all morning and into the afternoon, until I had to pick up Eliza. Dom picked up Audrey and came home to feed the girls at dinner time.
Tuesday was Valentine's Day. I barely got out of bed besides taking Eliza to and from school. Dom came home early again and helped feed them and give them their gifts that I had picked up last week.

Wednesday, I was so weak from having no food in my stomach for 4 days that I decided to call Eliza off of school. I don't know how I made it back and forth to school the other 2 days, but I couldn't do it again. I literally fed the girls toast with butter for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Times like these, I wish we were closer to family - or that Dom didn't run a business and could just call off of work.
But I survived. Thursday I was able to get out of bed and finally get some crackers and toast in my stomach. Dom got me some kind of miracle cold medicine that allowed me to sleep the night before and I could finally breath. Though I was in a haze, I was more "present" than I'd been the rest of the week.
Friday, I was well enough to drive an hour north to meet my Mother in law, who took the girls for the weekend. Originally, this was so Dom and I could do something nice, but it turned into more of a time for me to rest and recover.
We did still have a great weekend. We headed to Julian to get some pie and go back to Menghini - the winery we'd really liked last time we had been out there. We were able to browse through an antique store, and book store without having to worry about the kids touching anything, so that was awesome. Then we spent the evening at home watching movies.
:( Sorry! Glad you are better. Mommies aren't allowed to be sick, are they?
