Lake Hodges

This morning, Audrey and I drove up to Lake Hodges to check out this long bridge that we have seen from I-15, and some of the surrounding trails.  It was a little overcast, but perfect for hiking.  Audrey has been so excited about hiking lately, and I have been happy to give her the opportunity again and again.  We are all in a better mood when we get outside for some fresh air and exercise!

Audrey's picture of the lake

Audrey was even more excited to take pictures during our hike.  She used my old point and shoot camera to take lots of pictures of nature.  Its so cool to see things from her angle when I look through the pictures.

Audrey's view of the crevice

This big crevice in the middle of the trail really caught her attention.

On the other side of the lake, we went close down to the water to explore.  These fallen trees were great to climb over.

It was such an amazing sight to see the trees growing up out of the lake with their beautiful fall leaves.

Further up the trail, Audrey found this perfect rock to climb on and sit for a picture.

I am so happy we drove up there to explore.  We had fun, and look forward to going back.  There are lots of trails in that area, that I want to check out, especially one that has some Kumeyaay rock art all along it.
