Fritz Park Petting Zoo

We drove up to Irving to go to Fritz Park and the FREE petting zoo this morning. Normally, I wouldn't attempt this in the heat, but we really needed to get out and we met up with some great friends. The girls both had a ton of fun. It was just the right size that I didn't have to bother with the stroller, and the kids could run around without getting too far away. Even though Audrey had a slight fever with another tooth coming in (the second in 3 days) she was in a great mood for most of the time.

Excited to get out of the car after 45 minutes, they went racing up to the gate.

Eliza and one of the goats.

Audrey liked this one because it was a little smaller than the white one. The poor thing had a broken horn that was hanging right over its eye.

She would pet the goat, and then turn around to make sure I was watching, with a big smile on her face every time.

Audrey was trying to say sheep here - or she was laughing at Eliza and I saying sheep and making baa noises over and over.

Yes that's my child getting ready to stick her little finger right in the goats mouth - and me just sitting back with the camera ready...

The girls with Alec after checking out the cow.

Audrey definitely kept trying to stick her finger in to touch the turkey. The turkey was ready too, he kept sticking his beak out waiting for her to get close enough... Notice how close I was here compared to the goat!

Eliza and Alec were so cute talking to the rooster. They both kept saying hi and telling him their names.

What would we do if there wasn't always a nice bench to take a group shot?

Kyle still sitting happily on the bench, and Audrey ready to chase after the big kids who were on to the next thing.

Audrey was getting tired before we left, but she still sat still for a few cute pictures.

Eliza watering Audrey to help her grow.

Walking over the bridge was a big hit.

Eliza, Kyle and Alec on the way back over the bridge. Not long after this, we were all ready to go get some lunch and head home. It was a great way to spend the morning.
