Botanic Gardens After the Rain

It was pouring rain when we got up this morning, but we were hopeful it would pass quickly when we left to meet friends at the Botanic Gardens.  Thankfully, it cleared and the sun came out by the time we arrived.  The girls were excited to wear their rain boots and be able to splash in the puddles that remained.

Checking out some of the gardens near the entrance while waiting on friends.  Most of our friends cancelled because of the weather, so it was just Steph, Lincoln, and Brady again today.  They had so much fun together!

Climbing on a big tree trunk in the Seeds of Wonder Garden.

The dinosaur area was a big hit.

All of them even fit on this dino statue.

This water play area was new since our last visit.  They had fun playing there, as well as the little house with the "secret garden" behind it, watching the model train go around, and finding snails on the plants.

Then we went down a path we didn't even know was there before, and found a Kumeyaay Indian village set up.  The kids had so much fun playing there for a while.  We had a snack and Steph and I sat and relaxed while they all played.  I didn't get many pictures there.

Eliza in the Rainforest section of the gardens.
We took the path down by this pretty waterfall on our way to the Hamilton Children's Garden.  The kids climbed in the treehouse, splashed in the little river area, built a house, and played in the sand.  Before we knew it it was after 1:00 and we decided to make our way back towards the cars.

There was a lady with birds hanging out near the visitor's center and she let people hold them.  Audrey was too scared because she got bit by one of them last week, but Eliza held one - its name was Ut-Oh.

Ocean View and these 4 cuties!
Beautiful day!
