After School Adventure

Today after school, the girls and I went over to the Natural History Museum to see what was new.  It was like having the place to ourselves!  We usually go on the free day, but now that we have our Explorer passes we can go whenever we want.  There was hardly anyone in the main exhibit area so the girls really got to check out everything more closely.

They were excited about all the cool pirate statues to pose with.  The Pirate exhibit is extra $, so we figured we better not go without Daddy.

The scavenger hunt cards in many of the exhibit areas have always been Audrey's favorite part.

But these story blocks about a real fossil that is on display, are Eliza's new favorite part.  Each side is color coded, then they had to put them in chronological order.  When they got it right, the screen would let them know, then tell the story of what's going on.  The dinosaur fossil in the story was on display right next to them.  It was really cool to see Eliza's face when she made the connection and realized it was a true story.

Before we left, we ventured upstairs to check out the Skulls exhibit.   There were all different kinds of skulls of all different sizes.

They just liked the part where they got to draw a skull on the chalkboard.  Eliza did a skull and crossbones.

I'm so happy to be able to share these experiences with my girls.
