Farewell Butterfly Room

Today was Audrey's last day of school.  She was just as excited to go to school today as she was on her FIRST DAY. She has loved every minute of her time in the Butterfly Room this year, and will be sad when she realizes its over.  Next year she will be in the Bee Room next door.

We stopped in and said hello to Miss Kathy (the director) and snapped a picture outside her office.  Then off to class.  I dropped her off as usual and told her I would see her for the "party" later on.

So at 11:30 I was back for the end of the year party.  The kids had all decorated butterfly wings and the teachers put them on their back for them, telling them to "fly off into the world..."  They sang some of their favorite songs from the year, and Mrs. LaFrantz read a book.  

We gathered all the last of Audrey's artwork, her journal from the year, and everything else, then it was time to go.  The teachers gave her a Ready to Read book called Butterfly Garden.  We took pictures with each of them, and said our goodbyes.

So happy with Audrey's first experience with school!  Couldn't have asked for 2 better teachers! 

According to her journal entries from the first day and the last day of school, Audrey grew 3 inches this year!  My baby is getting to be such a big girl.

Now to enjoy some summer fun!
