Chula Vista Nature Center

We were so happy to share our first visit to the nature center with Amanda and Sage when they came to visit from Ohio.  We picked them up at the airport, stopped in Old Town to get Strawberry Tortillas, and headed down to Chula Vista to check out the nature center.  The kids were excited to ride the bus from the parking lot.

The green sea turtles were right out front, so we started there first.  They were so cool, and it was great to see them so close-up.  They are about 2 years old, and will go back to Sea World soon, when they outgrow their tank.

Right inside the doorway was a really big aquarium full of "Nemo's and Dory's."  There was beautiful blown glass in there too.

This cool blue circular window had lots and lots of jelly fish swimming inside.

We also got to see lots of sting rays, and I got to touch one of them briefly.  They weren't too active when we were there, so next time we'll plan our trip during a feeding time.

Back outside, there were some nice gardens and lots of different birds - hawks, owls, and eagles.

I didn't really take a lot of pictures, but we will definitely be going back!

We went home and let the kids play at the house afterwards, and just stayed in for the night.  Amanda and Sage had been up at like 3am to catch their flight, so it was the perfect way to keep it simple.
