Happy New Year! We had a pretty mellow day celebrating New Year's Day with people from Dom's office. The weather has been in the upper 70's, lower 80's so we decided to head to the beach this week! Yesterday we went to Del Mar for the first time to check out Powerhouse Park. We were not the only ones with this idea, and parking was a bit tight. When we first arrived, it was pretty chilly and foggy, but the sun came out and warmed things up eventually.
There's a great playground overlooking the beach, and the girls played there for 2 hours! I didn't want to pull them away, so we didn't even walk down to the beach. We only had a 2 hour parking spot, so we just headed home to clean up.
The scene at Mission Beach today was much different. We went at 10am, and were practically the only ones there! It was gorgeous - much warmer than yesterday and continued to warm up as we played.
Eliza went right into the water to splash, and ended up soaked from head to toe as usual. She collected rocks and shells, and made a picture in the sand with them before we left.
Audrey stayed back from the water, and played in the sand the whole time. Some of our friends joined us, and we all enjoyed seeing our friends.
We also got to see lots of dolphins swimming by just past the waves!
These posts always make me a little envious of your new environment! How fun that the girls get to walk barefoot in the sand even in the winter!
