We braved the crowds (300,000 people expected) this year to check out the December Nights festivities at Balboa Park. We lucked out on parking by getting there early in the afternoon. We started in the Spanish Village, which we'd never been in before. There was an awesome Santa there, in a green robe, with an old fashioned wreath on his head. Very cool, but the girls wouldn't go near him. I think the wreath scared them.
They loved dancing around and hopping from colored square to colored square. They made it into a game, where you couldn't step on the plain ones.
Eliza had so much fun dancing over in the dance pavilion outside the art museum. We bumped into her friend Brooke and they danced and danced.
Audrey liked climbing on the dragon, and eating kettle corn.
We got to check out the Air and Space Museum since they offered free admission during the festival.
We also checked out some of the decorated trees, watched some dance performances, and sampled some of the different foods.
