Here a Pier, There a Pier

Today we went to the Santa Monica pier to hang out with Dom's mom and enjoy some sand and sun.  Yes, if you're counting, that's 2 piers in one week.  If you've seen one, you've seen them all doesn't apply though.  The world-famous Santa Monica pier is such a popular place to visit, and of course we took the camera and acted like tourists.

Eliza stopped to climb around on these cool trees above the beach.

First, we walked to the end of the pier to check out the view - and the fishermen - before heading back towards the rides.

Eliza was bummed she was too short for the rollercoaster, so we let them ride this little 50 cent carousel.  Eliza picked the zebra again.

Then we went down to the beach to take pictures, and explore under the pier.  Eliza was psyched, but Audrey was scared of all the big waves crashing in, so she stayed in Daddy's arms the whole time.

There were some bright orange boats underneath the pier, so we tried to take some pictures standing in them.  The waves were coming in too far though, so Eliza wasn't looking at the camera for any of the pictures that were actually in the boat.  Then she got soaked by a really big wave, and we went back out.

The pier was much more crowded than our LAST VISIT, but that's no surprise since it was a holiday weekend, and the end of summer, as opposed to early February.  We had fun checking it all out on such a sunny day though, and Eliza was happy to get her feet in the water again.
