Hiking with Nana and Papa

This morning we went school shopping at the outlets.  In the afternoon, we wanted to do something fun since it was Nana and Papa's last day off of work before we fly back to San Diego.  So we decided to go hiking at The Gorge.  Audrey was asleep before we pulled in to park, so we buckled her in the stroller, had a quick snack, and were on our way.  We started with Mary Campbell's Cave.

Mary Campbell was kidnapped by Indians and lived in this cave on the Western Reserve temporarily.  She was returned to her home in Pennsylvania in 1764.

Dad with the girls.  Audrey was still sleeping, and since there were lots of steps to get down to the Gorge, Dad took her back to the car while Mom, Eliza and I continued.

Eliza and I climbed a little ways up at the side of the cave.  Not far though, because it had rained earlier and was too slippery.

The enormity of the walls was totally amazing!

Further down the path.  I know you can't see Eliza very closely, but the vastness of the rocks was just so beautiful.

The Gorge - Taken by Eliza

After lots and lots of steps, we were as close as we could go to the Gorge.  It certainly has changed since I was a kid.  We used to be able to go right down to it, and even cross over the rocks to the middle and back. The water wasn't flowing quite as high then.

Eliza loved this little rock bridge almost as much as the waterfall!
