We had some really great hikes this month already. The first was after some dreary, rainy days, so it was a bit muddy. We dressed appropriately and headed out to explore a new trail. It started near some condos in Tierrasanta, and was part of Mission Trails Regional Park.
The girls were excited to be outside after being stuck in the house.
There were lots of hills and big open spaces.
They each found a hiking stick to use for a while.
Water break.
Up at the highest point of the hike. The views were great, and running down the other side of the hill was lots of fun too!
Our other hike was with a Meetup group that's all about connecting families in nature. We went to Los Penasquitos Canyon and hiked nearly 6 miles.
The girls loved running along the narrow paths and hurrying to see what was around the next bend.
This was our first time hiking out to the waterfall. It was so cool, and a great place to take a break for snacks.
Daddy and the girls.
I ended up having to carry Audrey for about a mile towards the end of the hike since it was a bit far, but it was worth it. We all felt so great after the fresh air and exercise, and we all slept great last night!
