We have had our San Diego zoo memberships for nearly 2 years, and one of the few things we haven't done is the giraffe feeding. It only takes place on the weekends, and we generally go during the week, so we finally decided to fight the crowds and go this morning.
Checking out the giraffes before the ticket booth opened up.
We had to wait in line for the tickets and then wait in line when it was time for the feeding, but it was worth it to see how happy the girls were.
Hungry giraffe waiting for us to come feed her.
We were first in line and the girls were so excited!
The big man!
Finally! The little biscuits went really fast, but I managed to get a few pictures none the less.
The giraffe tongues were super long...
but Daddy still had to lift Audrey up so they could reach the biscuit. Audrey got to feed the male giraffe.
Eliza didn't need a lift, and she got to feed one of the female giraffes.
We all got to feed them at least one biscuit and the girls each got a couple. It was such a cool experience.
If you come back to visit Texas, Dallas zoo lets you feed the giraffes anytime you want... no lines. :)
