Instruments

We went to Barnes and Noble today for a special story time. Some members of Symphony Arlington came and read a book called "The Remarkable Farkle McBride" by John Lithgow. It was a great story about a little boy who loves music and eventually, after trying out lots of different instruments, becomes an orchestra conductor. The symphony members talked about different types of instruments, demo'd some of them, and then even let the kids try some of them out. 

Eliza loved the snare drum! She tried the bassoon, but didn't make a sound. Then after standing in line for the violin, she chickened out of trying it, I think she was scared of the guy holding it. 

Overall, she had a great time and it just reinforced my belief that she is going to play some kind of instrument when she's older.
