Today was our last day of school. Its our last year on the year-round schedule, so next year this post will be a whole month earlier. We will miss our long Christmas and Spring breaks, but for now, we are all happy to have 6 weeks of Summer break!
The Kindergarten classes celebrated the year with a big Luau. There were lots of festive decorations, great food, and fun games.
Audrey loved the "Aloha Sack Races!"
The "Pipeline Parachute" was a big hit.
After she made it in the hoop at the "Beach Ball Toss."
Audrey and Mrs. Bear.
She had an awesome year and we are so proud! Her reading level is already at the end of 1st grade, so she'll be reading second grade books by the time school starts in September. She is proficient across the board in all her other subjects and just loves school.
Eliza and Ms. Bryant
Another great year for Eliza too! She has developed a deep love of Science this year, that I hope will stick with her. She got to dissect a squid and an owl pellet, learn all about the Mars Rover, and all kinds of other great stuff. She seems to have a photographic memory for all kinds of facts and tidbits, that she recalls out of the blue months later. She wants to be a children's book author, and will certainly march to her own drummer - like e.e. cummings and James Joyce - in that she just doesn't seem to have time for the rules of writing, even though she does know them.
At the end of the day.
Goodbye Third Grade and Kindergarten!
HERE is a look back at their first day this year.
