Taylor Swift Rocks!!!

Dominic got me tickets for my birthday and Valentine's day to go see Taylor Swift (with Kelly Pickler opening) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. It was totally amazing! She started the concert dressed as a band member singing You Belong With Me. The stage was a school with lockers and brick walls. In the middle of the song, her band uniform was pulled away to reveal a beautiful dress. She sang a few songs on a small round stage out in the middle of the audience, giving hugs and handshakes all through the crowds. She really knew how to draw the crowd into just cheering, screaming and clapping with long pauses after some of the songs. There were a couple videos that served as an intro to some songs too. Before the song Forever and Always, the video was an interview about why she puts names of actual boys from her life into her songs. The interviewer asked her how she expected anyone to date her if they fear her using their name in a song when they break up... Taylor said if they don't want to be in her songs, "They shouldn't do bad things"

For my favorite song Love Story, the stage was transformed into a medieval castle and there we were taken back in time to a ball with beautiful dresses and dancing. She had a red ball gown on, but changed into a white dress when Romeo proposed... (like on the CMA's last year). Even more spectacular live than when I watched it on tv.

The stage seemed to be completely on fire when she sang Picture to Burn, which was also really cool.

In her encore, she sang 3 more songs. Should've Said No was like a theatrical performance with Taylor and the girl who plays the fiddle going back and forth and beating on these huge drums that looked like trash cans. It was like a battle with of course Taylor winning in the end. She ended the song with the rain coming down and her standing in it, which I couldn't get a good picture of.

I haven't been to many concerts in my life, but this was by far the most incredible one. It was just so much more involved than just standing on a stage singing her songs. There were at least 5 or 6 outfit changes. The ever-changing stage that went with each individual song were like pictures in a story book. The dancing and theatrical performance were so awesome, and hopefully the concert will come out on dvd so that I can share it with Eliza. She really would've loved it!
